Halo Infinite unveils Season 2: Lone Wolves

Halo Infinite unveils Season 2: Lone Wolves

It’s been rather quiet on the Halo Infinite front since the return of Fracture: Tenrai, but now 343 Industries has revealed information for the next season of their hit FPS. Season 2 is called Lone Wolves and will feature new maps and game modes. It’s coming out May 3, 2022. Let’s dive right in.

In a long blog post, 343 Industries emphasizes three core points:

  1. Addressing issues negatively impacting the player experience.
  2. Completing Season 2 and delivering it as promised on May 3rd.
  3. Continuing work on Campaign Co-Op, Forge, and Season 3.

At present, 343 Industries is working on a “hotlist” of issues that haven’t been satisfactorily addressed at the launch of the game. Among these are Spartan Career, Campaign Co-Op, and Forge. While these are still all in active development, 343 clarified that they won’t be ready by May 3. No release date has been specified, but 343 Industries will still aim to have these features active within Season 2.

As for the main features of Season 2, Halo Infinite will have two new multiplayer maps for players to sink their teeth into: an Arena map called Catalyst and a BTB map called Breaker. There will also be new modes such as a battle royale elimination called Last Spartan Standing, a new mode called Land Grab, and a returning classic, King of the Hill.

Finally, we will see various “cinematics, story-themed Events, Battlepass items and more” when Lone Wolves rolls in. The post introduces two new characters: Spartan Sigrid Eklund and Spartan Hieu Dinh. Also, expect more unique armor pieces to come with each new “Lone Wolves” event.
