Harebrained Schemes announces The Lamplighters League

Fans of strategy games might get a kick out of Harebrained Schemes' newest tactical game, The Lamplighters League. The full title being The Lamplighters League and the Tower at the End of the World, the game is set in 1932 and puts you in charge of a group of thieves, saboteurs, and other miscreants aiming to grab artifacts before a cult known as the Banished Court can. The trailer itself is highly reminiscent of Indiana Jones. See for yourself:

The Lamplighter’s League employs a turn-based mechanic on a grid map much like XCOM. Prior to that, however, you also have a real-time infiltration phase where you get the chance to scout the combat area, find out where the enemies are, and take out some guards before getting the best positions to fight on the map, much like Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. Some parts of the environment can be blown up to kill several enemies at once.

There are currently 10 characters in the game divided into three classes. Each character has a unique personality and set of skills, and they will interact with each other in between missions.

Characters are divided into three classes. Bruisers are capable of knocking down weak walls, doors, and groups of enemies. Sneaks are infiltration experts, able to stealth their way past and silently kill guards. Finally, Saboteurs excel at AOE attack and support. You’re going to need all these skills to succeed in the missions ahead. Not only are you going up against the Banished Court stormtroopers, but you’ll also be facing some monsters in the ancient ruins you’ll be exploring.

The Lamplighters League and the Tower at the End of the World will be out sometime this year for the PC via Steam, the Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Game Pass. Check out the best prices for a The Lamplighters League PC key from our comparator.
