Hearthstone is getting a new gameplay mode and a new expansion

Blizzard has managed to turn Hearthstone into a game followed by a lot of players even though the competition to be the top game in the genre of collectible card games is actually very tough. Quite a lot of games that belong to the genre have appeared in the last few years, especially for mobile devices, and even with all those competitors, Hearthstone continues to be one of the most popular games. That's probably because of the huge popularity of World of Warcraft, in which the game is based, but also because the developers have kept updating Hearthstone with new expansions and gameplay modes to enrich the experience offered by the game. That is exactly what is happening right now too. Hearthstone is getting a new expansion, Madness at the Darkmoon Faire, and there is a brand new PvP Arena competitive mode called Duels

Madness at the Darkmoon Faire expansion will be focused around the famous monthly event from World of Warcraft and it will mark the return of the Old Gods to Hearthstone. Those incredibly powerful creatures will have quite an impact in deck building for the following months without any doubt but the expansion also includes a new keyword, Corrupt, and plenty of other cards. Corrupt cards upgrade in your hand after you play a higher cost card. You can also get the legendary card Silas Darkmoon for free just by logging into Hearthstone.

Duels is a competitive mode similar to Arena in which you choose a hero and a treasure and enter a competition to win as many rounds as possible to earn rewards. It will run on a seasonal system and each season will have a limited selection of heroes and treasures you can choose from. Instead of building a deck picking from several options, you will create a deck of fifteen cards from your own collection, choosing from Scholomance Academy, One Night in Kharazan, Curse of Naxxramas, Basic, and Classic sets for the first season of Duels. Every time you win a match, your total life points will be increased and you will get to pick one from three sets of cards categorized by theme or powerful treasures to add to your deck.

Duels will be available to all Hearthstone players on November 12 but if you want to play its early access, you can purchase in the game a big bundle of items that will allow you to give it a try starting today and also includes plenty of card packs and other stuff.
