Hogwarts Legacy delayed for some systems

There's some bad news for Harry Potter fans. Warner Brothers announced that Hogwarts Legacy will be delayed for some systems. Specifically, it will launch on April 4, 2023, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on July 25 for Nintendo Switch. Here’s the announcement from the official Twitter account.

This sort of thing has happened before, with games like Gotham Knights de-prioritizing PS4 and Xbox One versions for next-gen consoles.

Thankfully, the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC versions of Hogwarts Legacy will still release on February 10, 2023, barring any mishaps. The game was already delayed before, with a target date in 2021 but was moved to 2022.

The Secrets of Hogwarts

The Harry Potter franchise remains alive and kicking to this, not just through a new Tokyo-based theme park, but with highly-anticipated games like these. Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world RPG set in Harry Potter’s magical school, with players creating a custom character who will be a student at Hogwarts. The game promises to take players to new locations not previously explored in either the books or the games. They will also “embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world.”

Another interesting bit of trivia is that Hogwarts Legacy may have multiple endings. According to director Alan Tew, players can change the flow of the story through their choices and actions.

"Different interactions with different characters can also offer different choice points for the player, and then some of those things can affect things game-wide; some of these affect characters' lives, the ending of the game."

How much of an impact your choices make and how varied the endings are some things we’ll just have to see when the game is released. Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. You can get a Hogwarts Legacy PS5 key from our comparator today.
