Intel Core Ultra 200: Arrow Lake-S announcement confirmed for October 10th

Intel has officially announced that the Core Ultra 200 Arrow Lake-S desktop CPU series will be revealed on October 10th, with availability and reviews set for October 24th. During the announcement, Intel is expected to highlight the advantages of the new Arrow Lake CPU designs and provide insights into the changes since the launch of Raptor Lake in 2022.

According to a couple of leakers and information from Videocardz.com, Intel has begun sending invitations to selected members of the press for a special pre-briefing event scheduled for October 7th. However, the information shared during this event will remain under NDA until the official announcement on October 10th. The new Core Ultra 200 will be officially announced on October 10th, with availability and reviews planned for October 24th.

Intel's Arrow Lake will bring two new core designs, Lion Cove for P-cores and Skymont for E-cores, to the desktop market. Both designs promise significant IPC increases over their predecessors, along with notable power efficiency improvements over Raptor Lake.

In conjunction with Intel’s new Arrow Lake CPUs, a new range of 800-series Intel motherboards will be introduced. Motherboard manufacturers are expected to unveil their next-gen Z890 motherboards on the same date, featuring the new LGA-1851 socket that will replace the existing LGA-1700 one. This new socket will be necessary for using Intel’s new Core Ultra 200 desktop CPUs, meaning that Alder Lake/Raptor Lake users will need new motherboards to upgrade to Intel’s latest desktop CPUs.

Previous leaks have confirmed the existence of several Ultra 9, Ultra 7, and Ultra 5 SKUs, with the K-series models, including the flagship Core Ultra 9 285K, set to launch at a later date, most likely in early next year.
