Guerrilla Games' Horizon series has quickly become a standout franchise for Sony, with new installments being released in rapid succession. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the studio's multiplayer Horizon project since 2022, but their patience remains unrewarded. Instead, they received Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, launched just two years after Horizon Forbidden West. While the remaster features upgraded graphics, many fans remain dissatisfied with Sony's decision to prioritize a remaster over introducing new content.
Back in September, Jason Schreier revealed on a podcast that Guerrilla Games’ next project would be the live-service Horizon Online game, putting to rest concerns about another remaster for Horizon Forbidden West. Schreier highlighted that this project is the only live-service title from Sony to survive the wave of cancellations that affected other live-service projects like The Last of Us and Twisted Metal. Even Marvel's Spider-Man, which already had a video trailer, was among the games that were cut. Recently, as reported by JorRaptor, it seems Horizon Online is set to launch in 2025.

Guerrilla is looking for an intern to help out with the online project during 'the first half of 2025' and they’ll acquire 'both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to ensure the game is prepared for launch'.

A recent job listing from Guerrilla Games shows the studio is hiring a “Release QA Intern” to support its online project. The listing specifies that the intern must be "available for an internship during the first half of 2025" and will "acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to ensure the game is prepared for launch."
Although this doesn’t confirm an official release window, it strongly hints that Horizon Online could launch sometime in 2025. While Sony has yet to officially announce the existence of this multiplayer game, there are several indications that the company is showing interest in live-service games as part of its strategy to diversify beyond traditional single-player experiences.
