Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Askiisoft have confirmed the launch date for their upcoming action platformer. Katana ZERO is set for a release on April 18, for PC and Nintendo Switch. Originally, the game was supposed to launch at some point this month but it seems that a bit more time was needed to polish things before launch. You can watch the announcement trailer below:
Katana ZERO is a 2D sidescrolling adventure with a neo-noir style, where you take the role of an assassin called The Dragon who can manipulate time using a special drug. This drug, called Chronos, also lets you predict the future. Combining that with your sharp katana you will have to get through a load of scenarios where you will be assaulted by enemies of all kinds. The power of Chronos to slow time and even rewind it will allow you to try multiple strategies on a trial and error system that lets you learn from your mistakes and attempt different things every time you face a dangerous situation. Katana ZERO offers you all the hack and slash platform action you want with a distinct visual style that reminds of 8-bit classics, but featuring a fast-paced combat system that lets you obliterate your enemies using your katana, traps or explosives. You even will be able to deflect projectiles back at them if you are skilled enough.
Katana ZERO features instant death, so it will put your skills to test on every level. You will have to execute one attempt after other until you can get rid of all your enemies and finish every level without a scratch. As usual, you can find the best price for Katana ZERO with our comparator anytime.
