Kerbal Space Program 2 has been delayed again

The development of Kerbal Space Program 2 is proving to be quite problematic for Intercept Games. We heard of the game quite a while ago, but the release has already been postponed several times. After three delays, the fans of Kerbal Space Program expected to be playing the sequel by the end of this year since the latest release window was the "second half of 2022", but it turns out that the game needs more polishing.

A complex developement

Intercept Games' creative director Nate Simpson has just confirmed that Kerbal Space Program 2 won't arrive until 2023 and explained some of the reasons behind yet another delay.

"We are building a game of tremendous technological complexity, and are taking this additional time to ensure we hit the quality and level of polish it deserves. We remain focused on making sure KSP2 performs well on a variety of hardware, has amazing graphics, and is rich with content."

"We've built a spectacular team at Intercept Games—a team that includes, as previously mentioned, key members from the development team behind the original Kerbal Space Program. We have the perfect combination of experienced, passionate, and skilled developers to fully realize this game's ambitious potential."

It will be just a few months, which is not much compared to the two years that the fans have already been waiting for Kerbal Space Program 2. The game was originally scheduled for a 2020 release, but it seems that the change of developer is affecting it much more than expected. Star Theory Games developed the original Kerbal Space Program, but Intercept Games took over the development of the sequel.
