MechWarrior 5 will launch on multiple platforms with crossplay

Epic Games Store exclusivity is coming to an end for MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and Piranha Games is ready to launch the game on several platforms. May 27th is the date that has been chosen to release the game on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via GOG and Steam. But this whole year in EGS has been quite useful for the developer as it has been enough time to include plenty of new features into the game. Therefore, if you want to delve into the unstable theatre of war of the Inner Sphere as the mercenary pilot of a gigantic mech you will soon have access to a game that is much more complete than its original version.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries has been improved quite a lot over the last year with a wide range of features that make gameplay much better, including rebalanced missions and a new beginning for the campaign, but the full release of the game this month will also come accompanied by its first expansion, Heroes of the Inner Sphere. This DLC will add new mechs, mech variants, heroes, weapons, warzones, and more to MechWarrior 5, as well as a new career mode. This will allow players a much higher level of customization for their mechs and also provide more tactical options in combat.

If you are already a seasoned mercenary pilot in MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and you are worried about the player base of the game getting diluted between several platforms you can cast aside your worries. The game will feature crossplay once it's available on multiple platforms so you will be able to share the fun with up to four other players in co-op mode no matter what platform they are playing on or if they own the DLC or not.
