Mistfall Hunter is announced, a new PvPvE Extraction game with RPG elements

Bellring Games announced during the Xbox Partner Preview its inaugural game, Mistfall Hunter, an extraction looter set in a dark and mysterious world of Nordic fantasy. Teams of up to three players will venture into the mist to fight monsters and rival teams in search of powerful gear, hoping to become strong enough to restore life to the world.

Players can initially gather in a camp with others to form a party, trade items, change their equipment, and select talents and skills before the next match. Mistfall Hunter plays out in a third-person perspective, and players choose a class from Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, and Shadowstrix, each with its own skill set. After that, it's all about collecting as much loot as possible and finding the monster called "Returner Woodling." Defeating it grants an item called the "Soul of Return." With this item, players can carve their path home.

For those unfamiliar, extraction looters are games where players collect as much loot as possible while surviving both monsters and other players, aiming to reach a location set by the game to be extracted, thus winning the match. Escape from Tarkov is one of the most famous games in the genre, while Hunt: Showdown is also a popular contender. Mistfall Hunter offers a more fantasy-driven setting, but its gameplay and endgame are similar. Players will face threats from both monsters and other players, though nothing stops them from forming impromptu alliances mid-game to seek extraction together.

According to Bellring Games, Mistfall Hunter is set in a world where various races once thrived under the protection of magic. A cataclysmic battle between the gods of this world and deities from other realms left nearly all divine beings fallen, their blood turning into a golden mist that drives those it touches to madness. This disaster, known as "Gyldenize," left only a few humans surviving in untouched corners of the world. A mysterious girl channels supernatural power and seeks out fallen heroes, granting them immortal flesh to fight against corrupted creatures, restoring hope to a world on the brink of ruin.

Mistfall Hunter has a release window set for 2025, and interested players can register for the upcoming open beta on the game's official website. The confirmed platforms for this extraction RPG are PC and Xbox Series X|S.
