Monster Hunter Stories 2 will launch on PC too

We have recently known that Monster Hunter Rise would also be released on PC, but instead of happening along with the launch of the game on Nintendo Switch on March 26, it won't be available on PC until 2022. The news leaves behind a rather bittersweet aftertaste since it's great that the game is coming to PC but it's quite disappointing that we need to wait so long for it. Thankfully, the fans of the series have another game they can focus on, and it's no other than Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

The first trailer of the game was shown when it was announced back in September but we could discover a little more about it during the Monster Hunter Digital Event that took place yesterday. A new Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin video was shown at the event and in addition to detailing the story a bit more and showing some gameplay, it also reveals the release date of this new adventure. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be released on Nintendo Switch and PC, via Steam, on July 9, 2021.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is not an installment of the main series. It's a spin-off and a direct sequel to its predecessor. In the game, we will play as the grandson (or granddaughter) of Red, the protagonist of the first game, which was available on 3DS and mobile devices. Unlike mainstream games like Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Stories focuses more on taming the different creatures that inhabit the world rather than on hunting them. You are a Rider that can hatch monster eggs to make them your companions, but in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin you are going to stumble upon a mysterious egg, which could well destroy the world, or that is what a legend says.

If you want to discover Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, the game will be available on Nintendo Switch and PC next July, and you can visit our comparator ahead of the launch date to get it at the best price.
