Capcom revealed on an exclusive live stream a new trailer for the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion, bringing a glimpse of the new story, the central Elgado Outpost area, challenging unique monsters, and the exciting new abilities that hunters will find after completing the base game's story.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak begins after Kamura Village's heroic defense against the Rampage, an arc concluded in Monster Hunter Rise - and after completing the seven rank star quest "Serpent: Goddess of Thunder." News of the village's survival inspires the gallant knight Lady Fiorayne to travel from the distant Kingdom to seek help.
Hunters brave enough to answer the call will set out for the port of the Elgado outpost. This busy maritime waypoint houses the Laboratory that researches the abnormal activities of monsters that trouble the Kingdom. There is also the Command Post, which is tasked with restoring peace to the region.
Here, players will interact with a cast of new characters, including the Knights of the Royal Order commander, Admiral Galleus, the quirky Scientist Bahari, the smithy Minayle, the Merchant Oboro, and the quest giver, Chichae. These helpful allies will help the hunters build new equipment for the dangers ahead and perform powerful new techniques.
Capcom's provided an official description of the story of Sunbreak:
The threat befalling the Kingdom is closely linked to powerful creatures inspired by staples of Western horror known as the Three Lords. This cadre includes the newly unveiled Garangolm, the chilling Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and the Elder Dragon Malzeno. In addition to these nightmarish new foes, other monster variants and returning fan-favorites including Blood Orange Bishaten and the mighty Astalos will emerge to challenge hunters in the added Master Rank quest difficulty. Researching the behavior of the Three Lords will take hunters across the Kingdom to exciting new locales, including the newly-unveiled Citadel. This locale boasts snow-swept peaks cascading down to lush forests teeming with new forms of endemic life. At the center of this vast region sits a long-abandoned fortress that serves as a bastion for the very monsters it was built to keep out.
The event also was perfect to reveal the release date of the game: June 30, 2022, for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Feeling excited about the news and eager to hunt new monsters? Take a look at our game key deals for Monster Hunter Rise and keep your eyes open for the deals on Sunbreak codes.
