New update for Black Myth: Wukong lowers boss difficulty

Black Myth: Wukong was released on August 20 and has garnered significant attention from the gaming community. Developed by Game Science and inspired by the classic Chinese literary work "Journey to the West," Black Myth: Wukong quickly became a major hit on PC and PS5. However, Xbox users seem to have to wait a little longer before Black Myth: Wukong becomes available on their platform. Despite its great success, Black Myth: Wukong has its own drawbacks, one of which is the game's difficulty level. The game also had several technical bugs at launch, with new issues emerging that need to be addressed.

Game Science has revealed the patch notes for the latest Black Myth: Wukong update, addressing core issues and balancing fixes. The new update, version 1.0.8.14860, focuses on enhancing the player experience by fixing bugs, optimizing performance, and making other game adjustments.

One major bug fix was related to a crash caused by enabling FSR, which affected some players when launching the game or playing the opening scene. Players using NVIDIA Full Ray Tracing will no longer experience sudden crashes in the Webbed Hollow area. Additionally, the update brings some graphical improvements, such as fixing a bug where hair would suddenly stretch, and optimizing hair effects for Lingxuzi. A PS5 bug that caused a strange object to appear on the ground during the battle with the Yin-Yang Fish has also been resolved.

This update also introduces balancing fixes, making boss fights more even. In response to player feedback about the difficulty of Captain Wise-Voice, the overall stats of this boss have been reduced. A bug where players could get stuck in a wall after being hit by Lantern Warden in the Pagoda Realm has been fixed. Other gameplay bugs, such as enemies sometimes freezing, the Destined One getting stuck when using "Whirling Thrusts in Thrust Stance," or failing to switch stances in Chapter 6, have also been addressed, along with some stat issues.

Fixes have also been made to quest-related problems, such as the Daoist Mi quest icon continuing to appear even when no longer completable, and a display bug related to the collection of Portraits in the Journals. In addition to fixing minor translation issues, Game Science has acknowledged a bug affecting players using the Turkish language setting. For now, Game Science recommends that these players temporarily switch their system to English or another language.
