Nintendo Launches a Games Trial Program

Nintendo Launches a Games Trial Program
After several times delaying its release, Nintendo finally launched last September the Nintendo Switch Online service. The reception of this new service was rather mixed, but it seems to have proven to be a success in just a year because, in a recent letter to its shareholders, Nintendo said the service now has 10 million subscribers. Nevertheless, some criticisms to the service persist, including the lack of content, especially when we are used to what PS+ and Xbox Live Gold offer to us, even if the subscription of Nintendo is about half the price of its competitors. As a reminder, it allows you to play online and also provides exclusive offers to the subscribers, such as NES game controllers, a catalog of NES games, and the benefit from the backup cloud. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukama said that the service could be improved through a planned upgrade. And it seems that the Games Trial program just announced by Nintendo is one of these improvements. Like Xbox Free Play Days, this program allows players with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play full games free for a limited time. The first game to register in this program is Mario Tennis Aces. It will be playable free of charge from August 7th at 10 am CEST until August 13th at 23:59 CEST. It is already possible to download the title via the Nintendo eShop by going to the Mario Tennis Aces page. Another good news is that players who have the free 7-day trial for the online service, or have not yet activated it can also benefit from this offer.

At the moment, we do not know what will happen next in the Games Trial program, as Nintendo has not revealed anything else about it. One wonders then what will be the frequency of these trials, and of course what will be the next game that will benefit from it. While waiting for the answers to these questions, Mario Tennis Aces is also available in our comparator. Do not hesitate to visit it to get the game at the best price.
