Nintendo has published an overview trailer for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Mario is an iconic video game character and the star of a plethora of titles. Over the years he has saved Princess Peach from countless dangers in a variety of platformers. However, there is a specific video game series that is very unique. We are talking about Paper Mario, of course. In this series, the characters and the world are made from paper and this allows for interactions that are completely different from any other Super Mario game. The legendary hero is back in a new adventure with Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, a remake of the game released for GameCube in 2004 that has been redesigned for modern consoles.

The official description of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door reads the following:

"The nefarious X-Nauts are after the treasure behind the Thousand-Year Door! With a map from Princess Peach, and the help of a few locals, Mario journeys through a colorful world made of paper to find them first. To prevail in this quest, you’ll have to level up Mario and his friends, master timing-based attacks and badges to impress the audience on the stage of combat, and make use of all the abilities that come with being cursed—er, conveniently made of paper—like folding into a plane to cross big gaps or turning sideways to slip through narrow openings."

All of this may sound strange to you if this is the first time you hear about  Paper Mario games, but Nintendo has released an overview video that sheds some light on the gameplay mechanics and the new features in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door when the game is released for Nintendo Switch. These include, for example, the Pit of 100 Trials, unlockable art galleries, and more.
