Overwatch 2 Reworks Bastion

Overwatch 2 Reworks Bastion

Overwatch fans will see a whole new Bastion in the upcoming Overwatch 2, and it’s not just the new baseball cap from Torbjorn. Blizzard Entertainment has announced sweeping changes to the Omnic that will redefine his place on a team. Check out the announcement in this video:

Overwatch Do-over

Bastion is known for his two modes: a walking Recon robot form and a turret Sentry form, where he is forced to stay in place. He is also known for his power to repair himself and his Ultimate, where he turns into a tank. Much of this will change.

Bastion’s gun will no longer have a spread in his Recon mode, meaning its bullets all fire in a straight line. The damage fall-off is also decreased so he can deal damage from afar. However, they have been slowed down by 50% to compensate for the potential damage increase.

Bastion’s Sentry form will also receive rework: for one thing, he can now move in turret mode, albeit slowly. The damage is reduced by 40% and has a 10-second cooldown, though it retains its unlimited ammo.

As for Bastion’s Ultimate, he no longer turns into a tank. Instead, he unleashes a long-range artillery barrage anywhere on the map. Players may manually aim three areas for the barrage limited to a timer.

Finally, Bastion will no longer have a self-repair ability. Instead, he will fire a tactical grenade with a knock-back ability and can stick to walls and enemies. The radius of this explosive hasn’t been stated yet, apart from it being “very big.”

Of course, Bastion also has a new skin, as you can see here.

These seem like enormous changes to this well-loved character. He certainly will be more reliant on Suppor teammates, and how well he will fit in his damage dealer role remains to be seen.
