Play Far Cry 5 for free this weekend

Even though all the fans of the Far Cry series are eagerly waiting for the launch of Far Cry 6 on 7 October 2021, previous games in the series are good enough to keep anyone entertained for quite a while, especially if you can play them for free. Ubisoft knows that and wants to give players the opportunity of trying Far Cry 5 without having to pay for it this weekend. You can download the game for free via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect on PC, or the respective PlayStation and Xbox shops, and play it to your heart's content until 9 August 2021. As it usually happens in events like this, you also can purchase the game with a hefty discount while the promotion lasts, or visit our comparator anytime you want to find it at the best price on any platform.

Far Cry 5 doesn't take you to a Caribbean island ruled with an iron hand by a ruthless dictator. Instead, it takes you to Hope County, Montana, where you will have to deal with the problems caused by a fanatical doomsday cult, Eden's Gate. The cult is controlled by its leader, Joseph Seed, and his siblings, and their members are far from peaceful. They put extreme pressure on those that do not share their beliefs, and they don't hesitate to use any form of violence to terrorize the community. As a member of the United States Marshals Service sent to the area to arrest Joseph Seed, you will experience that violence yourself once the task force you are part of is attacked. As a result, you will end immersed in a personal mission to solve the Eden's Gate problem once and for all.

On the gameplay side, Far Cry 5 features plenty of action, a recruitment system that allows you to get companions to fight at your side, you can tame wild animals to assist you in combat, and you can even play the game on co-op mode along with a friend. If you are looking for a good way to spend the weekend without leaving home, Far Cry 5 is a very good choice.
