The Nintendo Japanese Youtube account released a 6-minute video fleshing out several features of the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
This new overview trailer shows more features about the semi-open-world Pokémon game that got fans' expectations blasting through the roof. In it, we see a little more about the Hisui region, Sinnoh's former name at the time of its discovery. Pokémon Arceus is set in the past years before the other series.
The trailer also introduced us to the game's Pokédex system. The Pokédex is much more manual and handmade in a time devoid of technology, resembling a notebook. Captured Pokémons have recorded weight and size. A black and white photo and a short description accompany those who have only been witnessed.
To capture Pokémon, we have three different methods. One is to sneakily throw a pokéball while hiding in the tall grass - how the tables have turned, hey. The other method is the traditional one. After facing a Pokémon in battle, you try to capture it while weakened. The last process is against bosses. First, you must tranquilize them with special items. Then engage in battle and lastly try to capture them. All this while avoiding the pissed-off Pokémon attacks so as not to faint.
Pokémon storage is also more analog. Instead of storing them on a computer, our Pokémon are kept on a farm. We need to visit the farm when we want to switch parties or give love to our precious pets. While the developers have announced that we will have new Pokémons, we don't know which older generations might appear.
In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, our character must explore Hisui and collect data for the Galaxy Expedition Team, which may or may not become the modern Team Galactic of Sinnoh in the future Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games.
