Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will launch on next-gen consoles

After months of rumors about its potential existence, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was finally made official in September during the second episode of Ubisoft Forward. Like other Ubisoft games before it, it was leaked only a few hours before its revelation. Developed by Ubisoft Pune, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake received rather mixed reviews during its presentation, due to its graphics, especially in regard to the slightly deep saturation of colors and lights, and the quality of facial animations, which tend to make it look a bit dated. Originally scheduled for January 21, 2021, the release has since been postponed to March 18, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Well, that's what we thought until now, at least.

The page of the game on Ubisoft's store does display contradictory information, or at least, that has not been announced previously if found to be correct. We can see that according to the game's page on the US site, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake would also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Buy Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake on PlayStation®4 or Xbox One and upgrade your game to the next generation version (PlayStation®5 or Xbox Series X) at no additional cost.

Another surprising fact, we can also see on this same page that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is listed on Nintendo Switch, but appears as “out of stock”, so it's impossible to add it to your basket. Ubisoft has not yet commented on the subject, and we don't know for sure if it is an error. The information has been there for several days already, but without confirmation, nothing is 100% sure, so we'll have to wait for Ubisoft to comment on this.
