PS5 Pro unveils powerful specs ahead of release

The PS5 Pro is on its way and will be available soon. Sony has already revealed its $700 price point, with its release scheduled for November 7. But despite that, unboxing images and specifications of the PS5 Pro have unexpectedly surfaced on social media.

Accordingly, user @brunno_fast on social media platform X shared an unboxing video of the PS5 Pro along with a detailed specification sheet. Since this information comes from a user on X, it should be taken cautiously, as there is a possibility of it being fabricated. The most notable feature is the upgraded GPU, delivering a performance of 16.7 TFLOPs, significantly higher than the PS5’s 10.28 TFLOPs.

While the graphics power has seen a considerable improvement, the 16.7 TFLOP figure still falls short of earlier rumors (36 TFLOPs). Sony previously claimed the PS5 Pro would be 45% faster than the PS5 and would support PSSR image upscaling technology (similar to DLSS and FSR). However, initial tests show the performance difference is not particularly dramatic.

Following the leak, Digital Foundry examined the PS5 Pro’s specifications and verified the inclusion of additional DDR5 RAM, based on an official English spec sheet from Sony. While the primary RAM for the console is 16GB of GDDR6, it's interesting to note that the company is incorporating DDR5 for this additional RAM. However, it's likely that the OS will consume some of this memory, rather than the games.

Nonetheless, the PS5 Pro is still anticipated to be the world’s most powerful gaming console, promising the best experience for next-gen games. Developers also appreciate the PS5 Pro for its convenience in game development.
