PUBG may be getting clans on PC too

Even though it has been eclipsed by Epic Games' Fortnite, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds continues to have a wide player base and it is still a reference in the Battle Royale genre. Rumor says that it is getting a clan system on PC sometime soon, and this may be a way of giving the game a new direction in order to recover some popularity.

This supposed clan system has been revealed by dataminer PlayerIGN, who has a story of previous reveals regarding PUBG that turned out to be true. He has reported on Twitter a series of images to back his claim regarding this new gameplay system up.

According to the tweet, the Playerunknown's Battlegrounds clan system would allow players to form clans inside the game. With a maximum of 20 members, nothing has been revealed about their function in the game, but it's likely that it will be something similar to the system that was implemented into the PUBG mobile version not too long ago. This system allows players to team up and create clans with friends. Then, you can customize your character with clan icons and complete challenges to climb up the ranks in your organization.

Considering the typical Battle Royale "last-man-standing" victory condition may not fit very well with this type of social feature, we can only wonder if something like the War Mode implemented in the mobile version is coming to PC too. This gameplay mode changes the victory conditions so the winner is the one who reaches a certain number of kills.

We will have to wait a bit longer to see if all of this is really true or not, but it is good to see that Playerunknown's Battlegrounds is still pushing to innovate its gameplay and offer an even better experience to the players.
