Ratchet & Clank will run at 60 FPS on PlayStation

Even though Ratchet & Clank is quite an old game, it still offers quite an enjoyable platforming experience to the players. The video game series created by Insomniac games has a long story, as the first installment was released in 2002. Ratchet and his trusty robot friend Clank have become a fan-favorite since the first moment and the first game was followed by many other adventures in which the couple saved the universe from destruction. Ratchet & Clank games feature an exciting combination of platforming and third-person shooting with frenetic gameplay that has delighted its fans for quite a while, and it will continue to do so with the upcoming launch of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, a new installment in the series that will be available this summer.

Insomniac confirmed yesterday that 2016's Ratchet & Clank will receive an update that will make the game run at 60 FPS on PlayStation platforms. You may be wondering who would like to play a game that is so old but Ratchet & Clank is currently available for free on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Sony made it free at the beginning of this month as part of its Play at Home Initiative for anyone that has a PlayStation Network account (no, you don't need to be a PlayStation Plus member). The offer will be in place just until tomorrow, so you are still in time if you do not own Ratchet & Clank yet. Of course, the upcoming patch that will enhance its performance on both platforms is just the icing on the cake.

In Ratchet & Clank, the unlikely couple of heroes will have to save the galaxy from the nefarious plans of Supreme Executive Chairman Drek. He is taking parts of several planets in order to create a new one for his people, the Blarg, after they have brought their home planet to the verge of destruction with pollution and overpopulation. With plenty of weapons at their disposal, Ratchet & Clank will traverse a series of challenging stages full of minigames and enemies that they will have to shoot down.

We highly recommend that you hurry up and get the game while it's still free on PlayStation. It will be quite a good form of entertainment until Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is available next June.
