Frictional Games started teasing their next game last December, then unveiled a first trailer for Amnesia: Rebirth in March. The game is not really a sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, since it will tell a totally different story, but it uses the same formula. It's a survival horror game in which we play a character with memory problems.
The first trailer for Amnesia: Rebirth announced a release on PS4 and PC for this fall. If you are a fan of the series and follow Frictional Games on Twitter, you may have noticed some weird tweets over the past few days, which resulted to be sort of a countdown to reveal release date of the new game. Amnesia: Rebirth will, therefore, arrive on October 20 on PS4 and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GoG. As it usually happens, a brand new trailer has been used to announce the news.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent did put us in the shoes of Daniel, a man who woke up without any memories in a strange house. In Amnesia: Rebirth, we will play this time Tasi Trianon, and the game will take us to the Algerian desert where Tasi has survived to a plane crash that took place several days before. Her memories are missing, as are the other passengers on the plane, and a terrible creature seems to be chasing her and feeding on her fears. Frictional Games has spoken about the game and explained why they waited 10 years before releasing a new Amnesia.
"Our first plan had the game being released in 2017 or 2018. Obviously, that didn’t happen. Instead the game grew in size and ambition. It went from being a game with a small scope to being the biggest and most ambitious game we have produced to date."
This all sounds quite promising, and if you're into horror games Amnesia: Rebirth could be a game for you. As usual, do not hesitate to visit our comparator to get it at the best price.
