Several Resident Evil games are getting a next-gen update

Being able to play your favorite game on your next-gen console is much better if the game has been specifically designed to take advantage of its capabilities. When PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S were released, plenty of great games were available through backward compatibility, but many players also expected improvements that would allow them to experience these games with the full potential of the new consoles. It's about to happen with the Resident Evil series.

Free graphics upgrades

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 will receive updates that will allow players to enjoy these games with 3D audio, ray tracing, 4K resolution, and other graphics improvements on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. These improvements also include complete Dual Sense support for all three games PlayStation 5. Whoever owns any of these games on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will have access to free updates to the next-gen version of each game on the respective console. The updated versions will be available later this year and the improvements will also extend to PC. You will be able to update your games digitally and via the Smart Delivery system for Xbox.
