The remasters and re-editions of old games are quite common nowadays and that's why we are not surprised to see that one of the most famous titles of the Resident Evil series (also known as Biohazard) will have a new version soon. But in this case, the remake of Resident Evil 2 is even likely to take the place of the original title in the hearts of the fans of the series. The story is still the same one that led the original game to be considered one of the best survival horror titles of all time and the one that catapulted the series to ultimate success. Resident Evil 2 puts you in the shoes of Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy as they try to escape from the Raccoon City police station, a place where everyone has been turned into a zombie because of the devastating effects of a biological weapon.
But the new Resident Evil 2 aims to be much more than a simple reissue of the game published by Capcom in 1998 with improved graphics (60fps in a resolution of 1080 pixels and 30 fps in 4K). Although in terms of content the game does not offer many new features, the first thing that surprises about this new version is the camera angle from which you control the characters. In this installment, we can control Claire and Leon in an over-the-shoulder view, like in Resident Evil 4. It may seem that this difference is insignificant, but in this case, this simple change of perspective makes the game look totally different. The feeling of immersion walking through the oppressive environment of the narrow corridors Raccoon City police station is much greater. It also increases the sense of control over the position and movement of your character when it comes to evading the many zombies you will have to face. In addition, all of you who saw location changes as a respite in the previous game will likely have mixed feelings in the new Resident Evil 2. In this new installment there will be no loading screens, so running away from the zombies will be rather more difficult, although you will always have the option of blocking doors and windows to try to get rid of your persecutors.
All those who spent time and effort in unlocking Tofu and Hunk in the original title have to know that they will be present again in this new edition of Resident Evil 2. Of course, both of them will have to be unlocked again. In the case of Hunk, you must finish the game with a rank of A using Claire and Leon, and for those who miss trying to finish the game with a piece of tofu armed only with a knife, Tofu will be unlocked getting A rank 6 times. We remind you that rank A is not easy to achieve because it means finishing the game using only one first aid spray and saving the game a limited number of times. Resident Evil 2 will be available next January 25 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Console users will have no problem, but we offer below the list of minimum and recommended specifications for those who want to play on PC since you still have time if you need to make any upgrades to your rigs. As usual, we encourage you to use our search engine to find the best prices.
