New Resident Evil 4 Remake trailer highlights the second half of the game

Sony's first State of Play of 2023 took place and brought some news about VR2 and game announcements from third-party studios such as Baldur's Gate III, Wayfinder, and Street Fighter 6. It also showcased a deep dive into Rocksteady's upcoming new game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. In addition, it featured a third trailer for the Resident Evil 4 Remake, fleshing out more of this long-awaited reimagined entry.

The preview shares several scenes of the campaign's second half and introduces multiple scenarios from the castle part, which is one of the darkest moments of the original game. Also shown are enemies such as the Regenerator, an infected with the Las Plagas parasite that, as its name implies, regenerates its body.

One of the highlights of the trailer is the fight against Jack Krauser. Unlike the original game, there will be no Quick Time Event (QTE) fight this time. The duel will be done in the game with the knife, where Leon can take advantage of the parry ability, a mechanic shown with an emphasis in the preview.

Spanish Luis Serra is given more prominence and screen time in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Before, he appeared to be a mysterious watcher, but now he actively participates in some scenes with Leon. Luis seems to be assisting in a very intense fight with no less than two El Gigantes.

Capcom announced during the State of Play that a special demo of the Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released "soon" - possibly for all platforms. The revelation was made at the end of the third trailer for the reimagining. The Japanese publisher has not given any more information about the demo, but considering that the game arrives on March 24 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, it's quite possible that more details will be released in the coming days.
