Resident Evil Re: Verse has been delayed

The launch of Resident Evil Village is now imminent, as the release date is set for May 7th, next week. During the last few months, players have had the opportunity to discover quite a few things about the story and the gameplay featured in the game, mainly through several videos and a couple of demos. As we recently told you, a third demo will be available starting this weekend but it won't include the multiplayer, in this case in the form of Resident Evil Re: Verse, which was playable during a separate beta event last week.

No release date was specified for the multiplayer part of Resident Evil Village, and without this precision, we could naturally imagine that Resident Evil Re: Verse would be released on the same date as the main game, as it happened with its predecessor. But it seems that it won't be the case. Indeed, the official website of the game has been updated and you can now read there that Resident Evil Re: Verse will be released "in the summer of 2021", without any further precision. This is probably a disappointment for all the players who were seduced by the beta and expected to be able to play Resident Evil Re: Verse on May 7th.

Another relevant piece of information that now appears on the official website confirms that new generation consoles will not have a dedicated version of Resident Evil Re: Verse. If you play on Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X/S you will get exactly the same version as on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. No additional details regarding this info are given, so we don't know if new versions will come later or if it's just not on the agenda.

In any case, you can find the game at the best price on our comparator whether or not you want to play the multiplayer mode of Resident Evil: Village.
