Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has successfully caught the spirit of the tabletop game from Games Workshop and adapted it to an exciting CRPG experience. Comparing it to Baldur's Gate III is a moot point since Larian's game is the best in the genre, but Owlcat Games has managed to improve the overall experience if we compare it with its previous games. Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous are among the favourites of the fans, and both have wide support. The universe of Warhammer 40,000 is far different from Golarion, but its vast lore has been a great inspiration to create a unique adventure set in the Dark Millennium.
Taking the role of an iconic Rogue Trader is something already epic by itself. These individuals are responsible for the expansion of the Empire of Man. With vast resources at their disposal, they command a ship and explore the far reaches of the galaxy in perilous adventures. Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader lets you embody one of these individuals and pits you against all odds in a thrilling adventure. The game features a branching storyline with multiple ways of progressing depending on your decisions, and it's already become a favourite of the fans.
As it happened with previous titles from Owlcat Games, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader was released with a number of bugs. Some of them may even hinder your progress in the campaign significantly. But as it happened with the Pathfinder series, the developer is working on fixing them post-launch. The third major update for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has already been released, and it addresses many of these bugs and it fixes "a vast majority of broken quests and cutscenes that blocked progression or worked only for specific choices". The whole list of fixes and improvements to gameplay is quite long but you can check out the official patch notes here (be mindful of possible spoilers).
Owlcat Games promises to continue working to improve Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader with new balance and quality of life changes in the coming weeks. Of course, if you want to immerse in a thrilling adventure set in the universe of Games Workshop's tabletop game, our comparator is the best source of digital codes to play Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader on PC, Xbox, and PS5.
