Samurai Shodown will launch on Steam in June

The release of Samurai Shodown in 2019 was a disappointment for many players as it was only available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it only came to Nintendo Switch and PC via Epic Games Store quite later. The game brought back with great success the epic clashes between sword fighters that made the franchise so popular back in the '90s, although you may also know it as Samurai Spirits. Thrilling gameplay, maximum tension, and bloody results are highlights in a game where executing your attacks, parries, and counters in the right moment is vital if you want to come up victorious. Samurai Shodown doesn't need overly complicated mechanics, combos that require you to press a thousand buttons or swapping characters to deliver an exhilarating fighting experience. It was even selected as one of the games for the EVO 2019 championship.

Almost two years later, Samurai Shodown is about to launch on Steam, finally becoming open to a wider base of players. SNK has announced that the game will be available on Valve's digital distribution platform on June 14th. This launch will come accompanied by a new DLC for the game that will include a new fighter: Shiro Tokisada Amakusa. He will join Hibiki Takane and Cham Cham as part of the Samurai Shodown Season Pass Three.

Samurai Shodown may not be your type of fighting game if you are looking for something similar to Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, or Mortal Kombat 11, but if you are a fan of SNK games and you have played Kings of fighters or the previous games in the Samurai Shodown series it will be the perfect game for you. With modern graphics and enhanced gameplay, it delivers a unique experience that has managed to captivate the fans. Keep an eye on our comparator if you want to find it at the best price.
