Star Wars Jedi may become a trilogy

After the great success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order it was not a surprise to know the story of Cal Kestis would continue in a second chapter. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will launch in about a month and there is a huge community waiting to immerse in the world of Star Wars in the aftermatch of Order 66. After all, it's a very important period and the darkest for the Jedi order, as it would never be the same in the series again. The systematic annihilation of any vestiges of the Jedi,  gave the Sith enough room to manipulate the Empire in the years to come, setting the scene for the original Star Wars trilogy.

A long way ahead, maybe?

Leaving aside the relevance of the setting in the series, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will introduce new gameplay mechanics, a new story, new places to explore, and more. The game has the potential to become another huge success, and if it was for game director Stig Asmussen, it would have a sequel. In an interview with IGN, Asmussen talked about such a possibility.

"I always wanted to see this as a trilogy. How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game?"

"We had a pretty decent idea of timeframe where we wanted Survivor to take place, what the stakes were going to be, what the tone o the game was going to be, what Cal was going to be up against, and how the crew was going to factor into that. And there's ideas of what we could do beyond that as well."

Electronic Arts is yet to comment on this matter, and it's quite likely that they won't be ready to do that until long after Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is released on April 28th. It took Respawn five years to make the sequel to Fallen Order and we are yet to discover how suitable for a continuation the new game is. In any case, we will figure it out when the time comes.
