Star Wars Jedi series will be a trilogy

Now that EA is not the only owner of the rights to create video games based on the Star Wars universe, the company has to put a bit of extra effort into making its games worthy of players' attention. After the release of Star Wars Outlaws by Ubisoft, another solid option has emerged and EA needs to counterattack. And what could be a better option than building on its latest hit? We are talking of course about the Star Wars Jedi series with Cal Kestis as a protagonist. We have witnessed the evolution of Cal from an inexperienced padawan still discovering the ways of the Force in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to a fully-fledged Jedi Knight in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. However, the latter may not be the end of the series as confirmed by Laura Miele, EA Entertainment and Technology president.

More to come

According to her words, Star Wars games have been very profitable for the company with over $5 billion in net bookings. However, the most important part of her presentation made a reference to an upcoming Star Wars Jedi game that would complete the trilogy. Respawn Entertainment would be already working on it.

"Over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi."
"Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players."

This is great news for the fans of the series, who will have another opportunity to see Cal Kestis in action. Maybe, this time we will see him as an even more powerful figure in the sci-fi universe created by George Lucas. Building on the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a new Star Wars Jedi game will surely be well received by the community. However, Stig Asmussen abandoned the studio a while ago and a new director must be in charge of the project. Hopefully, this will not have a significant impact on the future of the series but we won't know for sure until EA reveals more details.
