Star Wars Outlaws features a huge open world

As the release date for Star Wars Outlaws gets closer, Ubisoft's game becomes more and more interesting. This epic adventure starring Kay Vess will have her traversing the galaxy and visiting many iconic locations from the saga. As we already know, the game is set between the events in The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi, and it will allow players to have a feeling of how the galaxy evolves outside of the main scope of the war between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Nothing better than a scoundrel to provide us with an overview of the underworld during that time and to shed some light on what's happening behind the scenes.

It's a big galaxy

Star Wars Outlaws will let you explore the galaxy as you please while you traverse from one planet to another in your adventures as Kay Vess. The game will not feature a galaxy as big as Starfield, but the planets you visit will be quite more detailed and lively than the ones you can find in Bethesda's game. Not many details have been revealed about them, but in a recent interview Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty has talked about the size of planets like Tosharra, Tattooine, and Akiva. He has confirmed that they will be the size of "two or three zones in Assassin's Creed Odyssey" and that it will take "about five minutes to traverse them completely on a speeder". For the studio, it's not the size that matters but the kind of experience a planet can deliver to the player.

"So we don't want things to be just big for big sake. We need it to be contained, always fun, always proposing different activities. So the traversal of the whole thing had to feel like a journey, a commitment when you get on your speeder and you want it to go from one end to the next."

Every little detail that is revealed increases the interest in Star Wars Outlaws. The game is now Gold and ready to be released and we could also watch a gameplay overview recently.
