Star Wars: The Old Republic's next expansion focuses on the Sith

Star Wars: The Old Republic has been running for a while already. It's been ten years since the massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on the Star Wars universe was released and since then the game has received plenty of changes and a lot of additional content. The most significant change affected its business model, which now is a free-to-play hybrid with an optional subscription fee that gives you access to additional content and features. But Star Wars: The Old Republic is still a favorite of the fans of the license, and it features amazing storylines for each of the classes in the game that turn the leveling of your characters into an epic experience.

This year the game will be ten years old, and BioWare has announced a new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic that should arrive in December along with the celebration of the anniversary. With the name Legacy of the Sith, the new expansion will see the return of the infamous Darth Malgus, and it will take you to the farthest corner of the galaxy. As you try to stop his nefarious plans, you will develop your own combat style with a new gameplay mechanic that will let you mix abilities from different classes and create unique combinations. Just this feature is enough to get all players excited but the expansion is also bringing a new planet to explore and plenty of additional missions and other content.

Star Wars: The Old Republic may be one of the games that benefit from the current situation in World of Warcraft, but even if it's not like that, the game has maintained quite a stable player base over the years and that should be enough to guarantee that you won't have any problems to find someone to share your adventures with if you decide to give it a try. If you are already playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, you will still have to wait for a few months before you can enjoy the content in Legacy of the Sith. Meanwhile, Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars: Squadrons, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order may be other suitable options for you too.
