The announcement of Super Meat Boy Forever took place quite a long time ago, but we have been kept oblivious about a possible release date since then. It's quite an anticipated title because the Super Meat Boy series is quite popular among fans of the platform games. With its fast-paced and sometimes frenetic gameplay and a unique art style, Super Meat Boy has become a cult game and the upcoming sequel will offer a brand new experience. Originally, Super Meat Boy Forever was intended to be a version of the original game for mobiles, but after five years in development, it has gradually become a full-fledged new game that will continue the adventures of Meat Boy and Bandage Girl.
In Super Meat Boy Forever, the archvillain of the series, Dr. Fetus has kidnapped Meat Boy and Bandage Girl's offspring, Nugget, and both heroes will have to navigate through a lot of dangerous levels avoiding the nasty trap that the evil mastermind has set in their way. As usual, if any of them comes in contact with any of the hazards in their path, they will instantly die and have to start again from the beginning of the stage. Of course, our heroes will also be able to punch and kick enemies and dash through the levels in order to progress. Each of the levels in Super Meat Boy Forever is randomly generated, so the replayability of the title will be quite high and you are unlikely to see two levels that look the same.
The release of Super Meat Boy Forever is scheduled for December 23, so you won't have to wait much longer if you are a fan of the series. It will be available on PC via Epic Games Store. We don't know yet when exactly it will launch on other platforms but it's supposedly coming to Steam in 2021.
