Synduality Echo of Ada, a Sci-Fi PvPvE Game, is set to launch soon

It appears the industry is overlooking Synduality Echo of Ada, risking missing out on what could be an excellent title. In 2024, Bandai Namco canceled several projects, cut its workforce, and announced a shift in focus towards more renowned titles. Following flops like Unknown 9: Awakening and Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash, this seemed like the best strategy at the time, albeit one that led to layoffs.

However, this didn’t mean Bandai Namco’s lineup was shrinking. In January 2025 alone, the Japanese company has three titles in the pipeline: the already-released Freedom Wars Remastered, a former PS Vita game that blends the Monster Hunter formula with a post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting; Tales of Graces f Remastered, arriving soon on January 17; and, of course, the one in question, Synduality Echo of Ada, scheduled to launch on January 23.

What Is Synduality Echo of Ada

Synduality Echo of Ada is an extraction PvPvE game reminiscent of Escape from Tarkov but with a sci-fi mecha theme and anime aesthetics. The game is set in 2222, after The Tears of the New Moon, a poisonous rain that wiped out most of humanity and created deadly creatures hunting the survivors. The remnants of humanity now live in the underground city of Amasia, working alongside Magus, AI beings, to ensure their survival.

The gameplay loop revolves around humans venturing to the surface in CRADLECOFFIN mechas, scavenging for materials while braving the dangers of the shattered world. Players will face hostile Enders and potentially other players. Once enough materials have been collected, they must return to their base, where they can craft and upgrade various items and weapons or renovate their garage to improve exploration capabilities.

There will be two gameplay modes: online, where players can form parties or battle against other user-controlled CRADLECOFFIN mechas, and some solo modes, though Bandai Namco has not provided specific details about how these will work. Players will always be accompanied by Magus, NPC-controlled characters that assist with exploration, provide feedback based on playstyle, and act as companions during these trying, lonely times.

All in all, Synduality Echo of Ada is an extraction PvPvE game wrapped in a unique style often associated with Japanese titles.
