The Dark Pictures Anthology continues with House of Ashes

Supermassive Games has built a name for itself as an excellent horror video games developer thanks to The Dark Pictures Anthology. In each of the games in the series, a group of players has to go through a terrible experience in strange circumstances and they will have to look for a way to survive. With different dialogue options that will influence the course of the game and the relationship between the protagonists, each player's actions and decisions will have an impact on the final result of the story, which may end will not all of them escaping alive.

Each of the games in The Dark Pictures Anthology offers a completely different scenario. Man of Medan, for example, narrates the story of a group of people that got trapped in a ghost ship during a diving expedition, while Little Hope puts you in the shoes of a group of students and their professor, who get trapped in an isolated town by a strange mist after a problem with their bus. Both games offer much more than a simple horror story, and the interactions between the players are as important as the mysteries to discover in each case, turning each game into a completely different experience.

The Dark Pictures Anthology is meant to have eight episodes, but Supermassive has just teased the third one, House of Ashes, which will take the players to Irak as the members of a military unit.

"The year is 2003, and in the shadow of the Zagros mountains in Iraq, a military unit comes under fire from Iraqi forces. The resulting firefight causes a heavy tremor, opening up a rift in the earth that swallows both sides, causing soldiers to fall into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. With all communication severed, our protagonists are trapped in a terrifying underworld they must navigate to escape, unaware that something ancient and evil has awakened in the shadows and has found a new prey to hunt."

The release of The Dark Pictures - House of Ashes will take place later this year. It will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The series is a highly recommendable experience for people that want to experience a survival horror story as a group.
