The Division 2 reveals new season

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new from Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, but lo and behold, here comes Season 9: Hidden Alliance. The new season will launch tomorrow, May 12. For good measure, they've also released a trailer:

Two years is a long time to wait, but The Division 2 promises to shake things up with a new villain in the powerfully-built Captain Lewis, as well as his whole faction known as Lewis’s “True Sons.” The faction is capable of invading and taking over certain missions in the campaign. You must also fight four mini-bosses before you can face the big bad himself.

Apart from new bad guys to fight, Season 9 is also introducing a new game mode. Countdown is an 8-player PvE where you have 15 minutes to stop a nuclear plant from going into meltdown.

"The agents, deployed in two teams of four, will start at different locations on the map and must work together to overcome the challenge. The Division will be confronted by some familiar foes and will have to fend them off to secure the plant, then call for extraction before time runs out.”

Also coming in The Division 2’s Season 9 is the Expertise system, where you can upgrade your gear’s stats like damage, armor, and skill statistics to reach a new power ceiling. You can also expect new weapons and gear.

To celebrate the Season 9 release, Ubisoft is making The Division free for Xbox, PlayStation, Stadia, Luna, Ubisoft+, and PC through the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect.

Season 9: Hidden Alliance will launch tomorrow, May 12. Expect more content to come as Hidden Alliance is only the first of the three-season pass out for launch this year. If you don’t have the base game yet, get a Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 PC code from our comparator.
