Almost one year after The Outer Worlds became available on Epic Games Store, the role-playing adventure developed by Obsidian Entertainment is about to be released on Steam. Although exclusivity deals are quite common nowadays, the strategy chosen by Epic Games in the commercial war against Steam produces collateral damage, and in this case, it's suffered by the people that have had to wait for such a long time until being able to experience the game in their platform of choice. The Outer Worlds turned out to be an excellent game with a very good story and although playing through the game a bit later won't make any difference in the experience, the wait can be quite cumbersome for some people. That period is almost over now, and The Outer Worlds is launching on Steam next week.
In The Outer Worlds, you will be a member of one of the two colonization expeditions that were sent to explore the Halcyon System. Your ship, the Hope, got lost in transit and appears quite many years later. You have been in cryostasis all this time along with the other members of the crew but you are were revived by mad scientist Phineas Welles. After being informed of the current chaos that has spread through the Halcyon colony due to the mismanagement of the multiple corporations that have taken control of the system in the years that you were sleeping, you discover that your physical and mental capabilities have improved quite a lot as a side effect of the long sleep and you decide to try to find a way to wake up all the other passengers of the Hope. From that moment, you will get involved in a series of events that will decide the future of the colony.
If you are one of those that have been eagerly waiting to play The Outer Worlds on Steam, the game will be available on Valve's platform on October 23. As usual, you can find it at the best price by using our price comparison tool.
