The Sims 4 - Star Wars: Journey to Batuu is the next expansion for The Sims 4

It wasn't a big surprise for those who follow the news about The Sims 4, but a new game pack was announced last night on the Gamescom opening show.

In fact, the Sims team had published in the spring their roadmap for the next six months, which included an expansion, an item kit, and a game pack. We already had The Sims 4 - Eco Lifestyle and Nifty Knitting, and those six months are soon to be expired, so this announcement was therefore imminent. The last pack included in this roadmap is The Sims 4 - Star Wars: Journey to Batuu and its release is scheduled for September 8 on all platforms, including Steam, on which The Sims 4 is now available.

The reactions to the announcement of The Sims 4 - Star Wars: Journey to Batuu have been quite varied. While the Star Wars franchise is hugely popular, not all Sims players think highly of this pack. Anyway, the new pack will bring a number of new features to the game.

The Sims 4 - Star Wars: Journey to Batuu seems to take a number of elements that we have already seen in StrangerVille, Realm of Magic, and Jungle Adventure. Although the trailer may seem confusing, an article on the official website provides more details. Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will obviously offer a vacation world, like Selvadorada. Therefore, we will not be able to settle our Sims there permanently.

The pack will include quests which, in addition to granting rewards, will be used to build a reputation with two factions, the Resistance and the First Order. That reputation will have an impact on the way the inhabitants of Batuu treat our Sims. We can also build our own droid and a lightsaber, which comes with a new skill, and of course, we will meet emblematic characters from the saga like Rey or Kylo Ren.

Whether you like the announcement of The Sims 4 - Star Wars: Journey To Batuu, it won't be too long until we see what the pack really has to offer. See you on September 8 in Batuu.
