The much-awaited and delightfully wacky RPG spin-off of Borderlands, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is coming out this March. Gearbox is releasing more info about what to expect from the game—particularly when you finish it. The Chaos Chamber is an endgame dungeon meant to keep players coming back to fight and gather loot from its randomly generated rooms. Check out the trailer now.
Each run through the Chaos Chamber takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. Players who enter fight through three generated rooms before facing a mini-boss, then go through three more rooms before facing a final boss. After completing one of the non-boss rooms, you may choose between two portals that give you a glimpse of what lies in the room ahead, giving you some choice on what to face next.
All players get three lives to spend each run; if you die before defeating the final boss, you at least get to keep the loot you’ve already acquired.
According to Lead Game Designer Kent Rochefort:
"We have over 60 level layouts, which will mix and match throughout a dungeon run. On top of that, all the many types of enemies from the game can show up, with up to three different kinds of armies in one room. There are also explosive barrels and traps that populate based on the room. Some are smaller, some are bigger; our level designers went with what felt appropriate for each particular combat arena."
Beating a Chaos Chamber lets you earn Moon Orbs currency, which you can spend at the Brighthoof Enchantment Re-roller station, where you can randomly replace the Enchantment on your gear. This is great for those who want to min-max their character for the perfect build.
Another important currency you can get are Crystals, which you can obtain during a run. You can typically get these from smashing a crystalline rainbow die whenever you clear a room, but you can also get them from completing side objectives in each room.
Crystals serve several purposes:
At the end of a run, you can also view your stats to see how well you did and how you stack up against other players worldwide.
