Everybody is eagerly waiting for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 to hit the PC and consoles. The developers have built very high expectations on the public with the promise that characters will have more room to specialize their skills and compete among other players in the field. Ubisoft Massive, the same team that brought you Tom Clancy’s The Division is developing the game and it is set to release on March 15, 2019. It's an online open-world game that provides an action shooter RPG experience through an array of realistic and iconic environments where players get to see Washington D.C. on the brink of extinction. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is set in a post-pandemic Washington, D.C. seven months after a deadly virus has crippled the population of the world. The Division is a unit of sleeper agents which acts as the last line of defense and that has been fighting to protect the people. The Division is pivotal in the game as it's the key to provide safety and save the nation from destruction. As part of The Division, you and your team must fight the battle for the society to survive.
The game features three different modes: Campaign, Co-op, and PVP. Players will fight threats and try to bring back Washington D.C. to its former glory in Campaign mode. In Co-op, players will team up with their friends and strangers to complete missions, as they did in the previous title, and in PVP, players will take on other players to improve their combat skills. After completing the 40-hours campaign solo or with up to 7 friends, each player can customize their tools and abilities upon reaching the endgame, extending the gameplay after hitting level 30 by taking on new missions, discovering new areas, and unlocking other game features. Downloadable add-ons will be added every three months to expand the story and content. Those add-ons will include D.C.’s commercial areas, nature zones, and wide-open historic sites.
The Division was well received by critics and sold more copies than the previous games published by Ubisoft. However, players were quick to leave the game due to several issues and lack of good endgame content. Ubisoft announced a sequel and promised a more compelling content and lasting game experience. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 expands and improves the endgame. The events are also different in both games. The events in The Division took place during a winter plague in New York while The Division 2 is set in a post-pandemic summer in Washington D.C. Both games will have similar mechanics though. Players will be able to run for cover, dodge incoming fire, shoot and aim precise shots. Ubisoft has used the feedback they received from The Division, incorporating them to The Division 2. That said, players can expect a more exciting and better story in the second installment. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will be an entertaining RPG game with awesome gunplay. Players are already fidgeting while waiting for Ubisoft to finally release the game in a few months.
