Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground redeems the franchise

A majority of Warhammer Fantasy Battles tabletop miniature game fans were deeply disappointed when Age of Sigmar replaced the classic game. It meant the end of the game they loved so much as it is, but also its gameplay system felt awkward and unfinished. Of course, the launch of Age of Sigmar had a repercussion on the video games based on the popular franchise, and we have seen several games based on it, but none of them has managed to nail it. Fortunately, the launch of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground today will change that.

Focus Home Interactive has managed to create a game that will please the fans with a roguelike turn-based strategy experience focused on three of the warring factions fighting in the Mortal Realms: Nighthaunt, Stormcast, and Maggotkin. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground features a series of campaigns that will put you in control of a hero leading one of those armies. As the story progresses, you will be able to unlock more troops and equipment depending on your performance. On each mission, you will have to complete certain objectives and fight enemies. The combat follows classic turn-based strategy mechanics, allowing you to move and attacks with your troops on a hexagonal grid. Your troops will gain exp in every mission, becoming more powerful as they level up.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground delivers quite a satisfying experience with a high level of replayability. It does a great job turning the lore and mechanics of the tabletop game into a challenging digital strategy game that many fans may even prefer to the original Age of Sigmar. In fact, Focus Home Interactive has managed to create an awesome experience for the fans of turn-based strategy games, and Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground could be one of the best games based on the popular franchise from Games Workshop. It's available today on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch featuring crossplay between all platforms.
