Watch the first 30 minutes of The Quarry

Supermassive Games is clearly building on their earlier hit Until Dawn with The Quarry. It looks pretty clear from the release of the first 30 minutes of gameplay—teen camp counselors Laura (Siobhan Williams) and boyfriend Max (Skyler Gisondo) visit the camp where they are scheduled to act as counselors. Of course, things go absolutely wrong. Check the video out now.

While the story leans into teenager archetypes and deranged locals trope, director Will Byles mentioned that the story will employ humor along with its horror, making it less “dark horror” and more like a “date movie.” Having learned what worked in Until Dawn, they want to bring things even further with its spiritual successor

The Quarry features nine camp counselors on their final day of summer camp, where they intend to have a great time with no adults and no rules. It all comes apart when they realize they are being hunted for sport. Like Until Dawn, all your decisions will have consequences and none of the characters are safe from death. Players will have their work cut out for them to keep everyone alive till the end of the night.

The Quarry relies on star power to sell its narrative, with David Arquette from Scream, Ariel Winter from Modern Family, and Lance Henriksen from Aliens included in the cast. It’s starting to sound like a real movie, you can actually make it into one by using the “Movie Mode” feature, which takes away gameplay and lets you watch the whole game like a standard horror film. If that’s not enough, you can also play in co-op mode, with online friends casting votes on which decision to take in-game.

The Quarry will launch this June 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Get ahead of the curve by buying a The Quarry PS code from our price comparator today.
