You can now play Assassin's Creed Syndicate at 60 fps on consoles

This year can be described as a rather rough one for Ubisoft’s “golden goose” franchise, Assassin’s Creed. Following the failed launch of Star Wars Outlaws, the fourteenth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, and the successor to 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage—titled Assassin’s Creed Shadows—has been delayed to ensure its quality.

One would think that after these setbacks, Ubisoft would slow down to focus resources and improve the quality of its Assassin’s Creed franchise. However, it seems that Ubisoft is aiming for both speed and quality, as rumors suggest they plan to release new Assassin’s Creed titles every six months for the next ten years.

Although these rumors should be taken with caution, Ubisoft recently surprised fans by announcing an update for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, a game that’s been out for nine years. The update promises smoother gameplay, particularly on the soon-to-be-released PS5 Pro, suggesting that Ubisoft is going all-in on the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

According to Ubisoft’s official blog post, a free patch arriving on November 19 will allow players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S to enjoy Assassin’s Creed Syndicate at a smooth 60 frames per second. Moreover, players will get to experience the splendor of Victorian London in full 4K resolution, bringing new life to the game’s cobblestone streets and massive Industrial Age architecture.

- Xbox (~31.8 GB):

  • Xbox Series X: 4K resolution at 60 FPS
  • Xbox Series S: 1080p resolution at 60 FPS

- PlayStation (~0.75 GB):

  • PS5 and PS5 Pro: 1080p and 4K resolution at 60 FPS
