Zombies Onslaught will be PlayStation-exclusive in Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War

The huge success of Call of Duty: Warzone makes one wonder if it will have an impact on the upcoming release of the new installment in the Call of Duty series. Even though we are used to seeing that Call of Duty: Black Ops games usually offer a different type of approach to action, Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War promises to be quite an innovative game regarding its setting, mechanics, and gameplay modes. All those new features could be considered a must if the game wants to draw the attention of the fans of the license who are having lots of fun in Warzone without having to pay a dime. Restricting content to a limited number of players may not be a good idea if you want that your game has a successful launch, but considering the current situation, in which new consoles are about to be released, trying to secure players for your platform with an exclusive deal can be considered something quite normal. This is the case of a new gameplay mode that Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War players will be able to play exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 when the game is released and for a whole year after that: Zombies Onslaught mode.

All the details about Zombies Onslaught have been recently revealed. This gameplay mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War will have two members of an investigation team trapped and having to face an unending horde of enemies in a fast-paced combat experience. You will play as a member of a fireteam that has been sent to investigate a Dark Aether anomaly. Once you get to the location, you will discover a mysterious orb whose energy gets you and a teammate trapped in a specific zone of the map. Dealing with an almost endless frow of zombies that want to kill you won't be an easy task, but it gets increasingly more difficult over time. You will face harder and faster opponents on every wave of attackers. Killing a certain number of them will power up the orb and it will move to a different location, and you will have to move with it unless you want to risk taking damage for being outside of the barrier it creates. The more enemies you kill, the better your score will be and the better rewards you will get at the end of the match. You will be able to use those rewards in multiplayer and Zombies modes later on.

It's quite likely that a single game mode is not going to make you change your mind about your console of choice but it will be a nice bonus for all those players that will play Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War on PlayStation.
